Just got back from this show. Pretty good time. I had never seen Lordi or Stolen Babies, Lizzy Borden a few times.
I found out later there was a multi-block power outage scheduled for this evening, so they cut the time on all the sets down to nothing, which really pissed me off. I didn't mind a short Stolen Babies set, as it's not really my thing. They were interesting, but not something I would buy.
Lizzy Borden though, was probably the best I've seen them. Seriously good sound, and back to the old theatrics. Saw them maybe two years ago with WASP, and really thought they should have hung it up after that performance. I'm glad they didn't, because they were great. Too bad their set was 24 minutes long.
Lordi was a lot of fun. They played a decent set, and sounded great. Would definitely go see them again, but I doubt it'll be in San Diego. The turnout for the show tonight was horrible. I would say that when Stolen Babies went on, there were maybe eight people by the stage, handful wandering around. And those eight left when their set ended. Definitely a core but small following. LiB might have played to 30-40, and maybe 100 for Lordi. At least I got to see the show without driving two hours to LA.
