When an album begins with an exploding dive bomb, you know you're in for a treat. Loudness has been crafting their own brand of hard rock since the early eighties, and now - over two decades later - you can hear a re-recorded version of their best hits from throughout their career. Loudness definitely lives up to their name, as the following tracks are nothing less than stomping hard rock magic.

You can always tell when a group is from Japan simply by listening to their music. Loudness features a ton of experimentations and rock 'n' roll greatness in their music. One might compare them to a more tame version of Sigh, also a Japanese group, except Loudness does not incorporate any growl vocals or anything too spectacular or unexpected into their music. That's not to say that this group is basic in any way, as they have a similar appreciation for classical riffs and shredding amongst chaotic tom-driven gallops of percussion.

On some of the songs, you can tell which time period they were composed in, some with 80's heavy metal chops, and others sounding like more modern hard rock - yet Loudness seems to stay fairly consistent throughout their career. Two things can be certain, they always manage to entertain with their fast solos played both on the guitar and keyboard, however, for two decades (and 78 minutes) worth of best hits, Rockshocks is not incredibly diverse. Secondly, yes - snakes are still scary. Recommended to all rock 'n' roll enthusiasts.
