"GR at walmart"

:tickled:
There's actually alot of good metal at Wal-Mart. I've seen Opeth, Amon Amarth, Dimmu Borgir, Himsa, In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Trivium, Six Feet Under, Entombed, Between the Buried and Me, Darkest Hour, Shadows Fall, Children of Bodom and many others there.

Wow, that's a culture shock. Our big music stores would mostly never even THINK about having a Christian music section, never mind like, a supermarket (I reckon our equivalent is maybe Asda, seeing as Wal-Mart now owns it).

no Christian section? Culture shock indeed. I guess I live in the bible belt of the world.
And nevermind Slipknot, I have only seen System of a Down.

Went to Borders and Barnes and Noble last night and neither place had fucking Terrorizer. While I was there, I browsed some Best of 2005 lists in various music mags and not one of them mentioned GR or any metal at all really. Sad that the hipsters (who admittedly did have some excellent choices...Dungen, New Pornographers, Vashti Bunyan, Kate Bush, etc.) found no place for quality metal releases in their top 50, but found plenty of room for Kanye and Franz Ferdinand.

Not saying Nile or Bodom get to crack into those lists, but definitely GR, Between the Buried and Me, Porcupine Tree, Nevermore, and Arcturus deserve shots. Lame ass New York media types with chunky, brushed forward hair, and blazers over t-shirts!
