Low tunings and possbly considering a Schecter left handed guitar??

I've been learning Tool's "Parabola" lately. Tuning is (low to high) BEDGBE. My Les Paul can't really keep up with this tuning for some reason; low B and low E go out of tune quite easily.

String gauge is Ernie Ball 12's. I usually play in CGCFAD, and swap between the two tunings occasionally. I'm wondering what I can do to make the Les Paul a bit more stable in the lower tunings that I occasionally goof around with.

Failing that, I'm considering purchasing another guitar for lower tunings. What do people reckon to Schecter guitars? I need to get a left handed one. Was hoping other lefties could chime in!?!

i think the LP problem comes from the shorter neck scale.

schecter guitars are cool but i would also take a look at LTD. the pricing of the guitars is similar.
i owned a LTD MH-400 LH, really nice guitar, very well built and full sounding.

where do you live!? i'm from germany, it's really hard to get a good lefty guitar over here,
if you live in the states, check out this* shop, they have a really nice lefthand guitar corner.

Thanks for the link. I'll check it out; and I'll also checkout LTD. If you ever go to Japan, there is an entire store dedicated to left hand guitars. Amazing place!

Cant comment on the specific on the lefty version.. but I do own a right version Schecter C1 Classic.. and tbh its awesome, you get a lot of quality for the money you spent

The B and lowest E are going to be pretty imbalanced compared to the rest of the strings. Lighten the 4 thinnest strings and make those two bottom strings thicker to get things more balanced... I'd have nothing lighter than a 56 to a 60 for the low B.

hey drew, just so you know i picked up a schecter hellraiser C1 FR from the USA with case, and inc shipping and all customs taxes it came to £460!!! so a shit load cheaper than the guitar alone in the UK and all the similar ESP models, of which i was gnna get!

oh and for all those dropped C tunings and C# tunings i use http://store.daddario.com/category/145817 without a problem!!
