Hey guys ...

I can't seem to find any good "real-life"-pictures of that freakin' guitar. Does anyone here happen to own one? Or is it too "vintage-yet-modern" for this world? :D

In case anyone is wondering - THAT guitar:

Totally, bro!
I even like that car, dude!!! :D

Gosh, I really wanted to save some cash for a ESP Eclipse (pimp vintage white *haha*), but now I'm not sure if I should go for that tasty little viper here :D

I don't wanna sound like a queer or nothing but olympic white is a sweet colour :)

i have a tele in olympic white, and an s.g in vintage white... well it is now anyway.
white guitars are fit

I kinda like it actually, and no one is more surprised by this than me! Probably because it still has the modern Viper shape (unlike the original SG, GOD do I hate the look of that guitar), so the vintage stuff is a really cool contrast. Of course, I have to mention the annoyance of the 24.75" scale (compared with 25.5") for intonation and string tension, and I'm sure the Duncan that comes with is my archnemesis, the flub-machine JB...

EDIT: Nevermind, it's a Custom 5 - my experience with that pickup is it's clear and not flubby like the JB, but it was really hard to get a good saturated tone out of it; seemed VERRRYY dynamic (too much for my tastes, I like some compression, though I'm an EMG 81 player, so it doesn't get much more compressed than that! :D)

Haha, I knew you'd have to throw the negatives in there too :p.

I have a regular LTD Viper in olympic white (from back when they were called 301's).

IMO, for this one you are paying a premium for gold hardware and a pickguard...Plus, I like the look of the regular white Viper better.

I luv teh Viperz. I own 4, 3 LTD's and an ESP!

You're not only paying more for the 1000-series for gold-hardware etc. but I think you know that. To me the difference from the 400-series to the 1000-series was tremendous.

BTW: I would throw out the Custom 5. Heard it in the Viper-1000 of a friend and didn't like it very much. SH-5 FTW.

Yeah, I have one of them:) '91 with black Seymour Duncan JBjr.

Have to jack this thread a little here...

How is the JB jr.? I know I'm about to put my foot in my mouth after voicing my strong opinion that humbuckers do not belong in a Strat - BUT - I never use the bridge single in any of my Strats and it would be nice to use more than the neck coil once in a while. I have been looking into maybe getting one of those mini humbucker models, such as the JB jr., to put in my main Strat.
