I bought a m-audio black box off ebay for damn cheap. I only will use it for demo stuff. Here's a short demo riff i did with no tweaking but a little mbc to tame the low mids.
It's 2 Tracks 5150 Preset and 2 Tracks Soldano Preset. Bass was the SVT Preset.

Drums are.... :yuk::err::puke:

No further processing...

Not bad for 60€, and you also get a mic preamp and it's M-Powered compatible.

What do you think?

I think it's cool. Also the bass has a nice growl imo! Did you use a real bass or pitch shift your guitar tracks?
If you get these tones at hand without tweaking the presets or eq afterwards it was definitely worth the money! :) Does this thing have a line out or do you have to use it as an interface?

Yeah this thing is good enough for demoing stuff, tomorrow i'm goin' to try what a TS in front will do...

I used an el cheapo Career Bass.
It has an SPDIF out and 2 line outs, but i connected it via USB and used it as an interface (Pro Tools M-Powered)
I only tweaked the presets in the black box a little less bass, more treble, gain was at 75% on the 5150 model and 45% on the SLO Model.

I also used a little limiting in the masterbus. Not much though...

btw: there are some really cool clean sounds on board.

hm.. Maybe I'm gonna get one of those too someday. Especially as my DigiTech RPx400 sucks.. SPDIF is really cool for the little amount of money! :O
