Audio interface keeps dropping out (M AUDIO BLACK BOX USB / Cubase)?

I recently bought a new PC (using XP), and installed my USB black box audio interface onto it.

I'm plugged in and playing / recording, everything is working fine. Then within 15 / 20 mins, it just cuts out. I can hear the guitar in my hands through my monitor speakers, but the black box just seems to disconnect from the computer (or vice versa) so there's no playback sound. The exact same set up always worked flawlessly with my old (less powerful PC) so I have no clue what's causing this... I have to restart it every time just to get it to work again (it could even be the computer freezing up), then it goes off again within 15 - 20 mins, so frustrating!

Things I have already tried:

Streamlined PC for audio recording (msconfig etc),
Tried updating drivers - makes no difference at all,
Tried disabling other soundcards,
Reinstalled Cubase,
Removed / Reinstalled same Drivers,
Tried my audio interface on old PC (and it still works flawlessly with exact same set-up, so it’s not likely the interface),
Downloaded ASIO Drivers,
Changed buffer / latency settings,
Posted for help on M audio forum...

Should I now:

1. Smoke crack and forget about it?
2. Try something else..?

It could be something to do with computer settings - IRQs or CPU power surges etc… that stuff is completely beyond me... any suggestions?

Any help appreciated!

Thanks, sean.
