Well the SM7b is the better sounding mic, I'm sure - but speaking strictly ergonomically, you'd rather hold an SM7 over a 58? Or is it just a matter of dealing with it for better sound?

Both, actually.

I have really big hands (can hold a basketball with one hand easily) and I like to hold the SM7b with two hands to really grasp it and put pressure on it. We used an SM57 as a prop mic for the videoshoot and it felt too tiny for me. Looked good tho

SM7B is the shit for rock vocals.

Since buying the SM7b we've mainly been tracking vocals in the control room with headphones. Seems so much easier that way.

I always track in the control room without headphones. Improves pitch/intonation for me.
