Haha, so my guitarist just picked up said software for $20, and called me up to ask what kind of sound card he needs in order to track guitar riff ideas into his computer. I've been poking around a few websites trying to read about it, and so far I'm not even convinced that it's possible to record an audio track into it.
Does anyone know anything about this particular piece of software? Thanks!

Magix makes Samplitude and Sequioa, so this might be cool. It looks like it can record audio to me. It shows the sample rate, there are record buttons.

Vers. 10 is the cheap version of Samplitude V7, which is about 4 years old I
think, but is already quite good. In this cheap version the effects are somewhat
crappy and of course some functions are missing, but especially for tracking
audio its perfect and works very well.

Thanks for the replies, guys. He ended up buying some cheap little $30 sound card and has figured out how to play his guitar through it into the software. I haven't had a chance to go check it out yet, but apparently there's a latency issue, so hopefully there's some kind of analog-thru, low latency mode.

any magix program I've ever used before has been incredibly cheesy. I thought they were mainly for using samples and loops.
Magix has two product lines, one for consumers (such as Pro Tools LE) and one
for professionals (such as Pro Tools HD). Magix Sequoia is about 3000 dollars
and of course you don't get it at the local electronics shop between washing
machines, Nero and vacuum cleaners.:)
