IRON MAIDEN TO PLAY SOUTH AMERICA WITH JUDAS PRIEST?
As further evidence that we live in the wrong country, blabbermouth.net reports that an Argentinian dj, Gustavo Olmedo of Rock & Pop 95.9 FM, announced that Iron Maiden, with special guest, JUDAS PRIEST (recently reunited with Rob Halford), will play a massive show in Buenos Aires at the River Plate stadium (the biggest stadium in the country), and three other shows in Brazil. This is yet to be confirmed... but it would be quite cool, wouldn't it?

Yes, it would. Of course, this was a rumor even before Rob H. was officially back in the band.

Personally I don't think it'll happen, since I heard from a very good source that Rob thinks Sanctuary did not promote his solo stuff to get him back into Priest (the same could be said for Bruce's solo stuff... hmmmm)...

Rob split from Sanctuary management a while back

fairly cheap to travel to Argentina... the dollar goes pretty far over there... I still have LOTS of family there... I might just go, haven't decided (if it really happens)...

Last time Maiden was in Argentina (I have this on video), during the Trooper, the crowd did not like Bruce waving the Union Jack (the war for the Falklands and football rivalries, still fresh in the minds of everyone)... it was a bloody near riot

Actually, Rob split from Sanctuary because they were partially responsible for the Judas Priest reunion rumors. Hmm...

Off hand I don't remember where I read this, so don't take it as "the Word of Dog" (small pun), but one of the band, either Bruce or Steve said that they would not do a tour with JP due to the fact of the nostalgia factor.. ie: they don't want to live in the past, they want to move onwards and upwards.

To be honest tho, I'd love to see it..this time Priest opening for Maiden.. 4 hours show, a nice 2 hours set per (grin). Tho, there is about as much chance of that happening as Maiden playing "Alexander The Great" on the new tour.

Puh-leez! If that was truly the case, they would take a new band (i.e. Lacuna Coil, Dimmu Borgir, Opeth) out with them instead of playing it safe and taking out Dio and Motorhead as opening acts. Christ, talk about nostalgia!

Slaved my arse off looking all over and I'm damned if I can find it anywhere.. I swear I'd read that someplace.. I'm not getting that old am I? Ugh.

Anyway..weird man. Oh well, on with life.

saw this on knac.com

"Judas Priest management co-ordinator Jayne Andrews has denied the report by Argentinean rock DJ Gustavo Olmedo of Rock & Pop 95.9 FM that Judas Priest will tour South America with Iron Maiden in March/April. [Crpn: Then again, isn't she the one that kept saying over and over that Rob hadn't rejoined Judas Priest?]"
