Hey guys what's up?
I've been reading this forum for the last week or so and the information available for a budding producer is just mind-blowing. So, I've decided to join up for good!
Sorry if my question is sort of noob, but how do I pitch shift my guitar tracks down the octave in logic (express) to get a good bass sound. I've tried using the transform function, but it augments the original sound, creating a terrible and choppy flub! I even recorded direct from my Pod X3 just to see if it was my Eq, but same shit. In other DAWs I've had no problems with this, great fake bass, but logic is not cooperating?

i use amplitube xgear which is a combo of all of the amplitube models in one plugin.

There is a pitch shifter pedal (or whammy pedal) that i shift down an octave and i usually use some amp and cabs from Ampex SVX and that does the job as long as i'm tuned to drop d or c. B just gets too muddy

hope that helps

Use a VST of some kind rather than the one in Logic.
After a while you'll start hating ghetto bass (i.e pitch shifter guitar for bass) though, and you'll want a real one. The best ghetto bass is only 1/10th as good as a real bass guitar.
