Man auctions biggest music collection ever on E-bay

Libraries generally don't buy things anyway, they usually have things donated.

3 million is just the starting bid on E-bay, but the value of the collection is estimated to be at 50 million.

Personally I think it would be cool if they made a museum for it, and put all the music into a digital format, so that you could listen to the music while you were there without damaging the albums. Also it would be cool if they kept expanding on the collection to be like a continuous documentation of America's music.

International music. It's not just American stuff, obviously.

They should make some sort of museum/library where you can listen to it without fucking it up, and it would also be much cool if they kept adding to it.

it says on the site

What's in the collection?
Every genre of American music is represented: rock; jazz; country; R&B; blues; new age; Broadway and Hollywood; bluegrass; folk; children's; comedy; Christmas, and more. No other collection in the world – publicly or privately held – even comes close.

It probably has some beetles and stuff hiding in there, but I'm pretty positive the collection focuses mainly on American music.

@Ninjageek: My apologies. I take back the "obviously"
But there's gotta be plenty of non-American stuff.
