People give Manowar a hard time...and they deserve it. The first several records were really good, unique sounding, and just plain cool. Everything after Fighting the World, and that one is borderline, is more or less the same, plodding, nonsensical crap. There are a couple of good songs, maybe...but mostly it seems as if they completely forgot how to write songs, and how to sound inspired. Factor into that their tireless self-promotion (in a bad way), and you get the cheese everyone accuses them of. When you mean it, even the silliest sentiment is at least a little worthwhile. But when you care more about attitude and posturing than music, it shows.
