I personally will be pissed if Portnoy comes back. I wanna see and hear what this band is capable of without Portnoy.

Also, some food for thought:
The first time Dream Theater experienced significant turmoil and felt the need to establish or "prove" themselves, they created Images and Words. The second time that happened, they created "Scenes From a Memory". This is now the 3rd time. I am as much of a wayward fan of the post-Scenes stuff as anyone, but I do legitimately think this could lead to them unleashing their next GREAT album.

At this point, they might as well announce they are going with a drum machine and a DJ. This drama has gone on so long nobody is going to care anymore.

Mark Zonder. If there was ever a drummer who plays the drums like an instrument, it is he. I still don't know what to expect from a new Fates Warning without Zonder. His ideas add so much to everything he has ever been on

I love how on the blabbermouth post it said that Portnoy tried to go back after he was canned from Avenged Sevenfold and got DENIEEEEEDDD. Pretty awesome.

Well, that would be refreshing. Would love to see it happen, but not gonna hold my breath. Definitely want to see what they can do w/o Portnoy. They seriously need new chemistry.

Yawn... haven't found DT relevant in years... they need to just cut the BS, get a new guy, go in record and either move forward w/out MP, or drown in mediocrity.. either way - I don't care... what a waste of bandwith by what was an amazing band at one time...

My thoughts as well. Yet, DT must have more threads on this forum than any other topic. Did we really need ANOTHER one? That said, I'd love for it to be Johnny Mac.
