Not sure anyone here will care too much, but I saw Manson last night and it was one of the best gigs I have seen all year. Best sound I have heard at a gig in Australia, and his performance was easily the best of the 4 times I have seen him. Awesome.

Yeah? Cool. Because over the last few years, he's turned into a sad parody of himself.

Mmmm here's hoping he does the same in Sydney Sanj and I are going on WEDNESDAY at the HORDEN ... hopefully will be great ..... if not to the Bar I go...

I'm saddened that I never got to see him with his big stage show back in the day, but still much better than the last few times I saw him. Probably the first time he has been sober. It seemed that way anyhow.

But was the gig any good?

It was'nt bad or anything just not my kinda Music , but he is certainly a showman or thinks he is, we got to about 6 rows from the front in the mosh and Sanj had an ashma attacked so we had to bail, we had a safety work " Glockinspeil (sp) but as she could'nt speak IT was no use., so that was the only bummer. Sanj was very excited to see Mr Manson I enjoyed the overpriced cheap burbons and looking at all the freaks , met some interesting people, as for the songs he sang Sweet Dreams Beautiful People twice was a an encore, he wanted to legally rape the Bass player from the support act THE ART which made the crowd go wild. They stopped playing for about 5-8 minutes as some dick threw beer at him , he basically said to the crowd that they could beat the fuk out of the guy for doing it although he dos'nt condone violence. Anyhow was amother gig and a great experience ...

I haven't been able to stop listening to Manson on an almost daily basis since that awesome gig. The man has infected me!

Bastard. I reckon it has to be at least 12 months since I bothered, his album are always hit and miss IMO, I can only listen to Holy wood all the way through

I have always found him pretty hit and miss as well, but this current infatuation has gotten me into more of his stuff. Even the newer albums at least have a really good handful of songs.

everyone keeps saying how good the new album is, but I really couldn't be fucked giving it a go incase it is shit like the last one

It's worse than the last one. Has a tad more roughness back to it, but completely lacking in ideas, and way too many songs. Shame because I really, really enjoy his older stuff.

I find them similar. A handful of really good songs amongst much mediocrity, but for me, the good songs and somewhat different musical direction made them worthwhile.

The band has been recycling the same ideas since Mechanical Animals and Holy Wood, both of which run a similar concept to Antichrist Superstar. If anything, he has deviated a little more on the last 3 albums, but to less success.
