...Which stuff should i check out??

Anything like 'Rust in peace' would be good... I have heard some of his newer stuff, and i wasn't at all impressed... What old stuff should i go for??

The bigger the hairdo, the longer the solos... the better.

hmm...do you have Cacophony's stuff? Friedman with Becker...I only have Speed Metal Symphony, their first cd, they had another one Go Off I think, pretty good stuff...i mean the guitarwork is just godly of course, the singing is very power metalish i'd say. the instrumentals, Concerto and Speed Metal Symphony are especially kick ass..

anyways you might already be familiar with em...making this post a waste heh

hmm... well Trapped Marty's solo stuff is NOT like Megadeth at all.. it is MUCH softer rock kinda stuff.. i personally like it! If you want his faster heavier stuff go for his cacophony albums with Jason Becker. I like the first one, "Speed Metal Symphony" better because it has Concerto and the title track on it... yummy... The next thing to get would be Marty's album Dragon's Kiss... his other solo stuff is NOT much like Megadeth.

I met Marty Friedman on The Youthanasia Tour and he was very nice and polite (although he is very short and his haair was as long as he was tall, about 5 foot. I told him I remebered his playing since the Cacophony days. He said Thanks and then said, "I bet you don't have this," and it was a 45 vinyl record of his first band Hawaii that he was signing for somebody. He shook my hand and said enjoy the show. I saw Megadeth with Korn, Flotsam and Jetsam, and Fear Factory. All were good live, but I don't like Korn, but I will have to say they were decent live if that's what you like. This is when they first came out with their first record and what you heard on that record you heard live. Anyway, Friedman's solo stuff: I like Cacophony and Dragon's Kiss. Scenes was too mellow.

Through all the interviews I have read, he seems like a really decent guy, really 'switched on' and intelligent...

One more person that i would like to meet someday.

I have picked up 'dragons kiss', and it's pretty cool. It's not at all like Megadeth, but it's pretty cool nonetheless...!
