Awesome, sounds like a combination of thrash metal and J-pop. What the fuck?

Of course it does. Not only does he live in Japan but he's also in a Japanese band and appears on various Japanese music shows with other guests like Paul Gilbert and the Sex Machineguns. Thrash/Speed Metal is still huge in Japan and when you're around that so much, you tend to write songs like it.

I personally think it's badass.

It's definitely the kind that grows on you. Honestly, I think it sounded like complete chaos the first time. But now I'm liking it.

I can hear similar stuff to what he was playing before he left Megadeth, but I can also hear licks that remind me of Bill and Ted. Didn't really enjoy that, there are notes, but where's the soul?

There's plenty of soul involved. Just because you hear a similar sound in something else doesn't neccessarily mean that there is no heart put into the music. There is so much music out there that it will happen. Music is recycled quite a bit, that's why we turn to other bands/music for inspiration.

Elixir isn't bad at all....I hear some of his Megadeth experience in it but I also thought I heard a part of the chord progression from Metallica's "Battery" in the beginning riffs.

yeah it has a battery feel but sounds closer to the verry first riff from sepultura's arise (the chugging one)
