M.A.S.H without a doubt the greatest television series ever. As a kid it was booooooooooooooring. Now that I am older (not wiser) its the shit! Dramtic and funny all at the same time.

I used to think it was boring too. But when I got into Jr High I started to understand it and started watching re-runs, back in the early 1980s.

i used to dread when i flicked the tv on to find that tune playing,i could never get into that show, they still plat reruns everynow and then,1 show i do like now is everybody loves raymond,it took me a while but it does grow on u.

The title song for M.A.S.H. is "Suicide is Painless" even though they only played the lyrics in the first episode, it's still kind of haunting and depressing when you hear the theme, especially after some of the final episodes.Damn, I'm surprised Tippy and the P.M.R.C. didn't try to make them change their theme song!

I used to watch reruns of Mash with my dad quite a bit when I was around high school age. Great show-it managed to be funny even with all the seriousness of war going on in the show.

yeah definately M.A.S.H. was the shit!!!

i used to watch it when i was a kid and have pretty much watched every episode again as they have rerun it all on cable over here.

I don't know if this record still stands but the final episode "goodbye, farewell and amen" held the record for the largest television audience for a t.v. series episode. And i have only ever seen that one once!

I too love the shit out of M.A.S.H. Up until a year or so ago it used to be on a local channel at midnight and was followed by Coach. It was like a ritual for me to watch them nearly every night in bed. Now the fucking station replaced them with Dharma and Greg and Mad About You...bah!

Have you guys been buying them? It's my husband's favorite show, and a couple years ago, I got silly and bought him Season 1. I was all proud of myself because he didn't even know it was out. But I created a monster. Now he goes and gets them on release date or the Friday after. He's dying right now because Season 5 came out yesterday and he has to wait until Christmas to own it. :)

I'm with the "I hated it as a kid" crowd. I have never tried watching it since i was a kid cause the memories were bad. Maybe I will give it a shot. I notice as I get older some movies look better to me now. Some of these "adult" comedies look funnier to me. When I was a kid, I'd be ready to vomit when I saw ads for certain movies. Now, I'm like hey that doesn't look too bad. I think "As Good as it Gets" comes to mind. Under age 25, I don't think I would even have thought of watching that crap. But after 25, I'm like hey that might be really funny.

:) :)

I can't get into it because he has it on ALL the time. Unless he's watching LOTR. It's on every night here on a local station, plus FX plays it and they like to have marathons of it too. He knows every episode, right down to the lines of it. You can ask him about any character, any plot, and he knows it. He can turn it on halfway through and 30 seconds in, know which one he's watching. Now, if it was just him, it would be okay, but I grew up with my dad watching it all the damn time too.

And when he's not watching his beloved DVDs, he's bugging me to get online and find out when the next set is being released. I think if I went an entire year without seeing it or hearing about it, I could get interested, but not until then.

Good points. I totally started laughing more at Bugs Bunny and all his pals the older I got.
