first 2 songs didn't astound and amaze me either...but I didn't stop listening until it was finished..which is a good sign for any new album ( I rarely listen to an album all thew ay through the first time...if ever.)

Fucking hell....this reminds me of early Coroner (in parts)...only no-where near as good. I never really understood what all the fuss is about these guys. At least they are doing something different i s'pose.
Metal is the only genre where singing a song about a prehistoric shark is acceptable (Megalodon). Makes me laugh.

i wasn't making a judgement about it, just that i find it funny that within metal singing about anything at all is absolutely fine. Its just a general observation. Leviathan (album) was about the story of Moby Dick i think.

Yes, you do miss something. I challenge you to write down 9 bands which are NOT different from Mastodon. It should be very easy, given the fact that you've probably heard more than 10 metal bands.
