I've heard the Barlow/Stanley comparisons before. I've even heard Barlow address it. He said he wasn't a Kiss fan growing up, and any similarities are probably because they have a similarly shaped nasal cavity. I can't say if that's true or not, but that's what he said. Beyond comparing their tone, comparing their range, power and delivery is just silly. Barlow's a vocal god and Stanley can barely cary a tune.
As for "The Glorious Burden", I think it's excellent. Even being a total Barlow-fanboy, I recognize that Tim's work is stellar, and the job he did on the trilogy is phenomenal.
As for the DVD, it sucks ass. I was so disappointed. It's just still images. The camera pans across one still image, to a second one, and then to a third, with crappy little cannon explosions in the background. They even use the same images over and over, because apparently they didn't have enough of them. I could have made the same DVD with a $300 handheld recorder and a book of civil war images. Total shit. Don't waste your money.
