I'm sure just about everyone here creamed their pants at this news, either from being Pyramaze fanboi's or Barlow fanboi's, but i really don't find this news so exciting. I love barlow, wanted to see him back, but this poster i found pretty much sums up my feelings:

I mean, honestly, i haven't overly enjoyed anything i've heard from this band. it's not that they're the worst band in the world, because of course Kaledon has that honor. i'm just saying, couldn't barlow have had better taste?

Edit: Oh, and i'm not so impressed with barlow's "Gay Neo" look.

Well I mean, Barlow really was a good fit for Iced Earth, and his voice is really synonymous with Iced Earth. Honestly, it's more the fact that he decided to no longer pursue his career in homeland security/being a cop and return to music and instead of returning to Iced Earth he joins a C-list mediocre group like Pyramaze.

Shit I remember I was listening to that shit during a photo shoot and before falling asleep quickly asked for Mystic Prophecy to be put on instead.

I think Pyramaze sound generic, but that is mostly cause of the singer imo, it's evident that they got talent. Barlow isn't my favorite vocalist or anything but he is better than loads of other power metal vocalists...there's something about this combination that just thrills me.

I downloaded 6 songs off the bands official website because Barlow is one of my favourite metal singers and I was curious about the band's sound. I must say I was bored with a lot of their material and that doesn't usually happen to me with prog/power bands, they aren't bad musicians or a bad band, its just... bland. I did actually really enjoy one song called 'What Lies beyond' its a very catchy song.

My complaint about Mattjoining this band is well... the band have no balls. They are melodic and fast and technically good but I think Matts voice was perfectly complemented by Jon Schaffers meaty guitar riffs, I can't really see Matt fitting this style of music, he needs to be more in a straight metal band then a prog/power band IMO. But then again who knows until we hear him sing for them, I'll check it out anyway because Matt kicks arse and its great that he is back in metal again.

I agree with what you said about all of that. Barlow IS balls. But in this case, something is definitely better than nothing.

In other words, Barlow w/Pyramaze > Barlow with nobody.

Oh and to whoever said it, I think Barlow still IS a cop. I don't think this is a full-time thing with him.

I actually like Pyramaze. They may be somewhat generic, but the songs are catchy and enjoyable to listen to. I was really surprised to find out that Barlow was the new singer, but I'm excited to see how it will turn out. It should be interesting to say the least...

So, I guess I'm one of the only fuckers out there that actually enjoyed Pyramaze, and thinks that Mr. Barlow fits perfectly on their musical intentions.

*killing myself*

That said, I believe this topic is completely pointless. Specially about this:
