It is the very first time I`m listening to a Serbian band though I`m listening to their second album that was released in the end of 2001. The six pieced band was formed in 1995 `to create real avantgarde death metal filled with the darkest atmosphere and sarcastic evil prose` - quoted from their letter. And no surprise they released both albums on CCP records that is a known label among the fans of underground, atmospheric black-death metal.

For sure their music is atmospheric but in a raw way and stands closer to black metal than death. Only the drum beatings reminds me of death metal because the overall music is percebtibly influenced by Scandinavian black metal bands. The mood around the album is grim and evil but also melancholic at some moments with the smuty smell of bm. The fast drummings are surronded by technical guitar work and with keyboards. When it`s used it turns the music into something mystical and haunting but many times it sounds too typical for my taste. Fortunately it stays in the background and only completes the music instead of leading it. The vocals are superb black metal vocals, aggressive and dark but understandable.
They open the album with a very nice extended low-tuned keyboard intro laying down the cold atmosphere of the album, that ends at shrieking guitars and blasting drums. There is a nice round between the drum and the keyboard passages in the song. The first time clean vocals and acoustic guitar shows up on the album is in `Star`s Hysteria`, that has an epic flowing. `Nocturnal Pedigree` is a chaotic, aggressive piece, only the acousitc guitars bring some calmness into this song. `The Last War Of Times` and `Zacaran` belongs to the `rather average` part of the album, though I like these songs too. But the real favourites are the last two track `Cold Winds Dominion` and `Jata Moja Crna` (My Black Flocks). They used heart tearing violins and light acoustic guitars while the "background" music is still raw, melodic black metal with several changes.

I will stay a black metal fan till bands such as May Result are around. Their music stays true to the roots of the genre but manages to keep its own identity.

the second release is not close to the first album "Gorgeous Symphonies Of Evil". the production sounds really bad imho, it's like being recorded in my very own private bunker, with my ignorant neighbour being sound engineer :-/ I have no idea what has gone wrong on "Tmina", but fact is: the first album beats it easily..... musicwise and also production-wise.
