These are the pics I got to take during soundcheck at Megadeth's show in Caracas. I mixed the support band. I couldn't get any more pics because there where not supposed to be cameras when Dave was around.

Pictures here

Hope you enjoy them.

Yeah, kickass shirt :p

I remember you posting about this way before.. How'd it go man? Everything work out smoothly?

Also, weird.. Why were there no cameras allowed in Dave's presence? :err:

My band opened for them in 2008, you can´t take photos when Dave is around, they are pretty strict with that stuff, forget it if you want to meet him. i was able to play one of his guitars thanks to Willy, his guitar tech, really nice guy, his guitars have lots of scratches and dents, one is even repaired from the neck, it has a big crack.

Ok. We had to be at the venue at 2 pm for soundcheck. Everything was good as we got there at 1:45 and had full access for our 2 cars full of stuff. Yes, we where told we had to bring our own backline. Once inside they told us that Megadeth's load in was stuck at custom's office and most likely we would had our soundcheck at door open. Most of the pictures were taken during that waiting time. What I did was get my console, Midas Venice 320, and set it up according to the rider I previously sent. After Megadeth's soundcheck (7pm) the guys from production told me that I only got line checks. Just then, It turned out that i had no signal from every channel with an insert in. For dynamics I had Klark Teknik so it was a big setback. I had to solve the problem and have all insert plugged out. Also, for some reason, I had no output from the group channels. I grouped kicks, bass and vox. So I dispossed of that too. And there's more, my band with only one guitar player sounded with an orange and a jcm900 head on two 1960 cabs. By the second song, the jcm900 somehow blew off. The final result. It was all ok. Audience was good. Not a very large venue but it was a sold out.
About the cameras thing, I don't know. We had our dressing room, and the bathroom was shared with Megadeth's. The guys from my band took pictures with Ellefson, Shawn and Chris. I couldn't because I was all the time during their sound check at FOH. The camera thing came from their road manager, who was all the time kicking people out of the hall during soundcheck.

Yeah, Willie's the man. A very nice guy. Dave's guitars are Deans, and they are all modified by Willie as Dean guitars are facing some legal problem witch the creator of the brand.

Yeah watched that too, i remember that time, Willie gave us lots of megadeth picks, BUT, my drummer found cooler black picks in the back of the stage, so we decided to take a few as souvenirs, we later knew that Dave Mustaine was furious because some guys stole a few of his own picks, hahah, i lost mine a few hours later.

Saludos Matula, debiste pasar una buena experiencia ese dia, willie se porto muy bien conmigo, pero al final del evento andaba muy enojado por fallas en el evento.

Es cierto. No sono bien. La guitarra no sonaba nada definida. Ellos luego tocaron en centroamerica y supe que alla tampoco sono bien. Fue tan mal que todo el mundo decia que la banda telonera sono mejor que Megadeth (good for me jaja). Now for you guys: Its true. It didn't sound good. Guitars all over the place. They played afterwards in central america and people I know there told me that they didn't sound good. Everybody here said that the opening band sounded better than megadeth (good for me jaja) (again).
