Just got my issue in the mail last night, I didn't get to it until thius morning.
For those that care there is a pretty insightful interview with Mega Dave in there. There's some information on who actually played on the Risk record & who was the one responsible doing this... Stuff that was news to me at least. Plus obviously, a nice little write up on Chris Poland.

Give details you beardless avatar! :p I don't have the mag in here and I'm really interested in it ;)

I will sum it up for you then. when he was looking for the Masters of the Risk record, came across the tapes for the bass, vocals & drum tracks. He wasn't able to find anything in the way of guitar tracks. It appeared that Dan Huff scrapped all of Marty & Dave's tracks & then called in studio buddies of his to come in while the band was out & they played on the record. Dave is Mega pissed & has to record all the guitar part when he went in to remix that record. I can see why he would be pissed. He also goes on to talk about how their then time manager Bud Prager isisted on co-writing half the record, because he knew the "winning formula." I guess Dave gave this guy too much input into the record & you have Risk. I'm amazed that this was all happening while Dave was sober. Or was he?! As far as Chris Poland, in short, he would have rejoined Megadeth, he & Dave got along great, he says. However, he 's more interested in working on fusion material at this time in his life.

Thanks ;) Good info indeed, I hope Dave is not lying about Huff and "Risk", sounds like he's trying to clean his hands with this accusation, but for the time being I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
As for Poland, I'm gald he contributed to TSHF, but I was sure he wasn't ready to drop his music and follow Dave again on the 'Killing Road' :D

There has to be some truth to this. Dan Huff comes from that kind of mind set. He's a studio hired gun, that's how his whole gig with Giant came about through, studio contacts. In any event, bands have others play records, sometimes they are other memebrs, sometimes they are outside people.
On KISS' Revenge Gene Simmons played NO bass, it was all Bruce Kulick.
It will be interesting if Huff responds to the allegations.

This guy deserves to be hung.
Imagine what a slap in Dave's face this is... :ill:
Well, I agree he should be made into a human pinata, with Dave taking the first swing of the aluminium baseball bat. He's a studio hired gun & for the most part he's worked with country acts, that shuffle their musicians in & out like that. I think there's a bit of truth to the allegation.
