Yeah... really hated the last album. Pissed off that i pre-ordered. Kinda the same feeling i got with the latest Morbid Angel & St Anger. Endgame was reasonable.

I wish instead of plying softer they would play heavier like on endgame... Don't they have enough money already?
The last album was pretty much done for contractual reasons. It's why there was all those old 90's songs on it, and likely an explanation for the lack of quality.
So I think this next one is gonna be a lot better because they've got more freedom, and they've got Ellefson back into the fold properly. Either way I'm looking forward to it.

Who gives a shit at this point honestly. Last album kinda sucked, I doubt Dave has anything left in the tank.

I really don't think Megadave can top The System Has Failed in terms of quality for more recent stuff, but we'll see. I didn't think the last two were very good, but they had some good songs on both.

I'm good with KIMB, PSBWB, and RIP. I enjoy Illud Divinum Insanus more than the last 2 Megadeth records combined. (That's right, I said it.)

Am I the only one who thinks Countdown to Extinction was the last remotely worthwhile thing they ever did? They seem to have absolutely unanimous admiration and I really don't understand it, because their output is largely unremarkable and Dave is a flagrant douchebag.

Megadeth is my favorite band of all time but Thirteen didnt feel anywhere close to finished when it was released. It featured way to much material that werent up to par. Since this band holds a special place in my heart I am obviously intrigued - I always am - but Im not holding my breath for awesomeness unfortunately.
In what world? Dave gets so much hate everywhere, and the majority of metalheads all seem to be of the opinion that anything after Rust In Peace is largely crap. Sure there's a rather large fan following, but unanimous admiration? I don't see that at all.
Personally I like most of their stuff but I can see why someone wouldn't. I also think Dave deserves better, but he sure can be a dick.

I dunno, I loved Endgame. Some of the songs are thrashier than their old stuff, some killer solos. 13 was meh but if the new album goes in the direction of Endgame again I'm looking forward to it.
