Found this on the official Deth website. Didn't even know they were coming to Oz.. Let alone the tix being on sale already, let alone it bloody well being sold out??

If you didn't know they were touring when it's been talked about on various forums for months, then yes, you missed out. Damn shame. I was just thinking of getting some tickets to this show.

Hee hee hee. I just went to the Ticketek site to make sure it was sold out, and the press release there says this:

”The Megadeth story begins in 1983, when Dave Mustaine, after forming Metallica, left, subsequently forming the most incredible, landmark, progressive thrash metal band of the century, Megadeth. The Megadeth rock and rollercoaster has been well documented & the story is ending in June this year."

I'm sure Lars and James would be pleased know that Dave "formed Metallica" and then "left".

I certainly didn't hear/see any promotion for the shows.. Posters, Newspaper ads, radio spots etc.

Its sad that the only way to check if there is a gig is on fan forums

Well you'd hardly expect the mainstream to advertise a Megadeth show, would you? But there was half-page ads in all the music press.

Yeah. I'd expect to see an add for Megadeth in the paper. There are ads for all sorts of bands in the Sunday Tele.

Their last tour in 2001 (?) was waaaaay more promoted than this one

I've seen adds in the Herald Sun, Melbourne's mainstream newspaper, and it has been announced on Blabbermouth, and talked about on here for a while.
