Aye, I managed to get a radio show at my University. I'm calling it "City of Melancholia", ha. I'll be playing what I feel is atmospheric and melancholic music from any genre and I will definitely be playing Katatonia. The show broadcasts every Thursday from 6PM-7PM Eastern and my first show is tomorrow evening.

I know I'm setting myself up to be ripped apart posting this here, but oh well. I've always wanted to do something like and finally had the bollocks to go through with it. If you want to check it out, details can be seen here: https://www.facebook.com/CityOfMelancholia and http://wmucradio.com/station/shows/1884

I hope there is some interest here, but if not...:fu:

Thanks either way. :D

Indeed. Haha, my first show was tonight and I had some technical errors that are hilarious to me. I'm also socially awkward which means I was incredibly nervous and very monotone. Definitely have things to work on, but it was the first show. I hosted two hours tonight. The first hour was my planned show and I went heavy for the second hour. It only streams online at wmuc.umd.edu or the second link on the initial post.

cool! melancholic music definately needs more show-casing on radio stations :)

i'd really appreciate if you'd play some of my doom band's stuff on there (if you like it), you can download the first demo for free here:

good luck with the show :)

Thanks and yeah, I'll give that a listen and play it at some point. I'm already tending to plan my show a week before so I'm trying to shape next week. I'll definitely do that though.

thats cool, a friend and i used to do a radio show at our university

pretty sure we got canned though
Haha, that sucks. Why was that? I'm pretty sure as long as I want to I'll be able to keep my show. They aren't too strict about anything and they don't follow whose listening to your show. I peaked at 6 listeners last night!

I found out a couple of days ago that I will be interviewing Neige from Alcest in two weeks! Should be awesome. I plan on playing clips from the interview for my show then.
