that melodic control one sounds interesting .. something i think i would want to get ...

What is it.. a video? or book?

They are two books... i've seen the melodic control one and it was *yawn* fairly simple. Melody isn't something you can anticipate, when a cool melody comes along, it's because of A) a cool riff underneath, or B) a cool vocal line.

I'd like to get my hands on the exotic one tho, it sounds awesome !

Melodic COntrol is a great video.....

it's not about technique.....marty is awesome....this is the only vid I've seen that makes you think about melody...he's not telling you what kind of melodies to play....

he's giving you advice and techniques on how to develop interesting melodies......


my fav thing he does is when he plays a note that is totally off in terms of the chord progression...but he holds it ever so slightly and then bends to a note that sounds right......
an amazing and subtle attention graber melodically...

He got that from satch... It's a cool technique...

Say if the chord is EMinor, you do a backwards slide down to a D# and slowly bend it up to the E, i love that so much.
