Listening to Stoner Witch for the first time right now, pretty unruly. I already know Houdini rocks, I just never picked up my own copy.

What other albums do I need to check out by them? Cheers and such.

What about the Ipecac trilogy?

You tell me, that's why I'm asking. :loco:

Also I love their album covers, they always look harmless and/or gay, and then you get this vile nasty sludge that could have even the most jaded listeners running for cover. Rules.

I'm not into them but those three are very praised and what I heard was quite good. "The Crybaby" has guests from Tool, Jesus Lizard, Brutal Truth, Mr Bungle, Exit-13 ou Helmet etc..

Sold? :p

While I absolutely enjoyed anything I heard from them, I'm unable to point a particular album. Yet another discography I need to grab lest I die stupid. Same about the Swans...

Some day you come to realize how much the bands owning you today owe to their models of yesterday, who in turns owe their life to yet older gods... and where does it end? You tell me...

you HAVE to get

Bullhead
Lysol (aka the self titled)

don't get any others until you have those.

The Ipecac trilogy is decent, but as praised as they are, I don't think they're priority buys.

The new one with Lustmord, Pigs of the Roman Empire, is amazing.

edit: well The Maggot is the unruly one out of the trilogy, but pass on the other 2

@Chromatose: you got it buddy, I'll look for those next.

Get Various Failures, it's about as perfect as compilations get.

I'm listening to [size=-1]JELLO BIAFRA & THE MELVINS , streaming from the Fury Fest . It sounds quite good , you may want to check this out too.. but get real Melvins albums first :Spin:

haha! I really do like that one, not that I've ever really been a huge Jello Biafra fan... but I bust it out now and again for a good laugh

but what I like about the melvins is THE UBER FUCKING HEAVINESS, not so much the punk

couldn't get into these guys. too Mike Patton-esque in its tomfoolery and I don't like that too much.

However, the Melvns were cool in a live setting.
