Catch 33 wasn't "lacking" anything. Your ears were just lacking the ability to enjoy it.

It's without a doubt a very technical album, but it's just weak in comparison to their other albums imo.

I really like how the album logo looks, though I agree.

Yes, it does sound like Meshuggah. But each bands have good songs and so-so songs. This one - is nothing special, imo.

I quite liked it at first listen considering the quality is so bad but I'm reserving my opinion for when I hear it in the context of the album in its entirety in full quality audio.

I take Catch 33 the same way as "Songs Of Grief And Solitude" of Drudkh - it's kind of experiment.

This is kind of how I look at all technical extreme metal - an experiment. Fun to stare at under a glass for a while, but eventually one tires of it, and goes back to listening to real music with actual melodies.

Yeah so, I listened to obZen...incredible. It's unlike anything they've ever done and a GREAT improvement from Catch 33. Can't wait to see them in May.

edit: Bleed sounds A LOT better now, and i only got it in 160 kbps...can't wait to see what VO and FLAC sounds like haha
