I tend to stick with the 4/4 beat on the cymbals in those instances. It works sometimes

hahaha yeah you have to in fact lol meshuggah is cool in a way cuz very often they do just what you said and keep that steady beat with the hands and the kick is following the guitars in those odd cycles, sometimes pretty long lol but they're so awesome haha

Yeah that's a fucking epic song ! I really love to play (try to) those songs on drums lol I'm currently working on Bleed and This spiteful snake....they're giving me a hard time but I'll get those fuckers down haha

hahaha yeah I hope too man ! Even Haake himself said that he had to change his way of playing the kicks for that particular song, like more in a tap dancing way rather then just hitting the pedals
