My June highlights:
TOWER - Let There Be Dark
Doesn't peak quite as high as Shock to the System ("Prince of Darkness"!!!!) but at the same time it's a bit more solid across the album making for a bit more consistently enjoyable listen. Especially love the production this time, drums have so much pop.
Vigilhunter - S/T
Italians worshipping at the altar of Fates Warning and early Queensrÿche. Just splendid stuff all around here, FFO of progpower and USPM in general.
Naked Whipper - Chapel Defilement
Kinda surprised how much I like this. When it first dropped at the start of 2025 it didn't click with me, but I eventually returned to it and yeah wow this fucking rules. I like that there's a much more present deathgrind influence here compared to the older material. Listen to "Fucked on Cross" and get facemelted.
Psudoku - Psudoktrination
Norwegian "progressive space grind" all handled by 1 guy. If you're a fan of BxSxRx, Parlamentarisk Sodomi or Brutal Blues (other bands he's in) than you should know to expect brain destruction grindcore. Been anticipating this new album for ages and it does not disappoint.
