My post in the election thread about the shitty MTV awards the other night reminded me of something I was thinking the other day. Because metal is overlooked by pretty much every other awards shows, and there is so much metal out there, someone should start a metal awards night. That would rock. There is enough subgenres and releases every year for it to work, and you could also have the obvious broad ones such as "best album" and "best single" and "best video" etc. I guess the only problem would be finding a group of "industry experts" or similar to actually make the winning decisions, and no one would really be happy with it. Oh well.
