Metal dealing with LOVE RELATED DEPRESSION and GRIEF.

If I was, I'd insist on a capital letter in God. No mate, but I didn't think Will Oldham would be kind of what the thread originator was after.

I'm not a huge fan of non metal stuff, that's all. The posting of non metal bands in the forum works me up into a rage, as befits someone of my limited mental capacity and advanced age. Feel free to ignore me, but I didn't mean to cause offence.

Once a facist, always a facist I guess.

not that I'm into the band, but H.I.M. apparently deal with that kind of thing
Otherwise, I'd say:
Killswitch Engage - The End of Heartache (the song, not the entire album)

Anathema - Eternity, Alternative 4 and Judgement are kind of a trilogy of albums dealing with loss of love and loss of relatives. Very emotional stuff, if they do dip in quality with each release. There are tracks on "Eternity" that always make me think of the death of one of my loved ones. Awesome stuff.
Well uh actually, Judgement > Alternative 4 > Eternity (and not all the traxxx are about love) but they're all really good albums anyhoo

My Dying Bride - Like Gods of the Sun - Deals extensively with lost love, forbidden love and love denied - and is all the better for it. Plus, chicks dig it, and I once got some awesome dirty action from a bird, listening to this. Ah, memories, memories!
Far too girly even for me. Aaron's cleans can FUCK OFF. Only good My Dying Bride is first LP & EPs

Same here. Sometimes I can tolerate Aaron and sometimes wish he would shut up because the band has always wrote great music. Their guitar players write great riffs and it sucks when this guy gets annoying.

I mainly just spin that trinity digi-pack cd which is some of the best doom/death period, as the flower withers second behind. Trinity is one of the few really worth while compilations.

No, and I know they're not all about love, thx.

great choice with the anathema albums but in my opinion judgement is a more emotional and moving disc than A-4 but that albums good too. still waiting for eternity to come in the mail actually so i cant comment on that one yet.
