Hello Sneap forum. I have recently procured some DAW and drumming plug-in software that I would like to really start using.
I want to collaborate with a guitarist/songwriter who is interested in writing some metal tunes. Preferably melodic metal in the vein of Norther, Insomnium, Nightrage, Novembre, Children of Bodom, Wintersun, Omnium Gatherum, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, Mercenary... you get the point. I would prefer to work with an intermediate to advanced guitarist from a skill perspective, though technical skill is not absolutely necessary, it would not hurt or limit the songwriting process. Hope you understand.
The songwriting will also lend itself to all of the pre-production, engineering, mixing, post production, etc. If this post is inappropriate for this forum, then I can relocate it. What better place to write songs AND hone your production craft, at the same time.
Anyway, a little about me. I'm a drummer/musician of 23 years, and have been part of a few bands and projects over the years. Although, I have never done a truly satisfying melodic metal album and to this day, it's still something I want to do.
I can perform recordings and/or program with Superior Drummer 2.0 with various metal drum sound packs. I would say I'm more of a drummer/musician rather than a whiz with the DAW, but I actually prefer programming these days because of back surgery back in 2011 that has somewhat limited me physically behind the kit.
If you're interested in a project such as this, or know someone who might be, please get in contact. Thanks!
