Did any of you catch this show last night:

Heavy: The Story of Metal

How awesome!!! It started off with the history of the NWOBHM and included interviews with Neal Kay who "discovered" Iron Maiden. It featured lots of excellent, old live footage of Maiden when Steve Harris wore those striped spandex tights! I remember reading about the "Soundhouse Tapes" while in (koff) high school. I've *always* loved Maiden with Paul Di'Anno. Loved his punkish/blues vibe. I must have played "Iron Maiden" and "Killers" (on vinyl) over and over 'til my parents got sick of hearing it.

I watched that shit. It was actually really awesome. I hate the editing though, on the band commentaries. It's so obvious that maybe 98% of the time they people arent even talking about the band specified. It's just all cut and paste shit.

I wanna watch the Supergroup show coming to VH1. I saw preview for it and it looks absolutely hilarious.

It was strange seeing Dave Murray looking older and sober. I remember him young and drunk in the 80's.

Yea i hear that !!!!!!

It a funnt thing that VH-1 really gets real "METAL" but MTV was so stuck in the hair metal thing back in the day.

Headbangers Ball was the only time you got to see REAL metal. It was such a shame.
