Trying out mixing on some new monitors (Truth B2031A) upgraded from my old Alesis M1 Actives. Also, experimenting with impulses rather than pod farm's cabsims. Guitars are Mississippi Criminal with tube screamer > lepou cab plugin > catharsis impulses I found on here a while ago. Drums are XLN AD.
Anyway, here's the rhythms and some light lead layers but no guitar solo(s), strings or synths.
How's this sound to your ears?

That's better than I hoped for haha! I agree the playing wasn't as tight as it should be but I was more focused on writing than playing if that makes sense. Good call on the frequency cut range. I've realized the monitors are WAY too high on my desk and so the tweeters are firing above ear level which explains how I wasn't properly hearing it. I used to have my last monitors laying on their side and so the tweeters pointed at my head but the 2031s are too big to lay on their side (at least on my current setup). I'm looking at building a new workstation in the near future to accommodate having both for A/B. I would love to have vocals to mix an 'entire' track with vocals but I'm not very good at them and don't currently have anyone to work with, so instrumentals for now. Sucks, but, it is what it is.
