Hi guys, I have been watching this forum for nearly a year but haven't posted anything yet.
My band mates in Vietnam just released a demo and we need your valuable opinion on it.
I recorded all the guitars for this song (except for the clean part at the end was recorded by my band mate).

This version was done by me, I used POD farm + impulse for my guitar sound and EZD for drums, kick and snare was replaced by samples.

The other version was done by my friend, his style is quite different from mine, and I don't really know what he used on the guitar track.

Thanks for viewing.
I need your comment in order to improve my mixing technique.

Listened to your version. Vocals stand out a bit too much, I think. Otherwise really solid - great job!

Your mates version sounds like the guitars are running through two impulses or something. In your version some guitars sound like the impulse was mic'd behind the cab. Lows are very rumbly and muddy, bass needs some more controlling. Agreed about vocals, they are very loud and don't really sit in the mix at all, they sound pretty dry and dull.

Thanks guys, I also realized that vocals are too loud after listening to my older version. I always find problems with mixing screaming vocals, as you said, it doesn't really sit in the mix. I will try to bring the vocals down and do some EQ.

i really like the track, especially the intro.
the mix is boomy as hell, there are some deep frequencies waiting to be EQed :D

cheers
