Metallica recently announced the upcoming remastered reissue of Load, originally released on June 4, 1996. Today, the band shares the following update:
“November 16, 1996: As the European leg of the Poor Touring Me was winding down, we found ourselves in Stockholm for a two-night run at Globen. It’s a raw counterpoint to the seminal concert film, Cunning Stunts, edited together by Brett Murray from a stack of videotapes collecting dust in the Metallica Vault.
“See the full concert shot at the second show in Stockholm as part of the Load Remastered Deluxe Box Set, coming out on June 13. While you wait, watch a full performance of ‘Bleeding Me’ now.”

This one-time pressing is jam-packed with exclusives, starting with six slabs of vinyl. Included are the remastered Load album on 180g double vinyl, a “Mama Said” picture disc, and Loadapalooza ’96, a 140g triple album recorded live during our Lollapalooza headlining run at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre on August 4, 1996.
There are 15 CDs, from remastered Load to 245 never-before-released tracks, including riffs, floor takes, demos and rough mixes, B-Sides and rarities, and tons of live material. But that’s not all! Four DVDs include behind-the-scenes, in-studio and live footage, on-air and television appearances, the band’s Polar Beach Party visit to Tuktoyaktuk, Canada, and more. All in all, the Deluxe Box Set clocks in at 1839:31!
