I know this is an Andy Sneap forum, but I'd like you guys to give me your input on Michael Keene's style of mixing because it's unique. The Drums sound like DFHS to me and he likes Line 6 equip alot.

I think the thing that strikes me as the most out of place is the extremely hard pans on the guitars and the dull EQ he puts on them. nothing by itself is "clear" but together it sounds really good I think.

Here's the stuff he's done

I'd like to know what everybody thinks on the tones and production please

thanks

its mostly the production that illudes that, but also theyre all on the same label so maybe that just reflects the taste of the label

I like his style a lot.
It has a certain insanity to it.

For VoM I'd say its the low end, the kick has some :Smug: sub.
and with The Faceless its the tight drums, love it.
also the leads on the Planetary duality record have something misterious to em, but that's mainly because of the notes he plays i guess.

I've been wanting to try and mix my/our own songs "like that" but I wouldn't know where to start.
