Micing/booth question...

For a solid brick-walled, concrete+sand floored booth thats longer than it is wide and heavily padded with rockwool and booth tiles would you get a better sound aiming the amp down the length of the booth or across the width for mic'ing or would it not make a difference?

The mic should be parallel to the longest wall to minimize any reflections from a wall directly behind it. generally you want to give as much room as you can directly behind the mic as you can.

with heavy padding its just a matter of getting more air between the mic and the wall and giving the cabinet more room to develop the sound.
