Long story short, I bought a Blackmore head with a HB 2x12 cab and I am trying to mic it up. In the past couple of weeks I have tried every possible mic position but I somehow always get this horrible "nasal" or "hollow" sound somewhere in the 300-600Hz area as far as I can tell.
I don't have much experience with micing cabs so I want to know if this is down to poor micing or is the problem with my mic (MB-75) which is obviously not the best mic in the world but still should be ok, as I have heard good results with them on here before.

I have not EQ-d anything as I want to get the sound right at its source. Or is this something that can only be removed with EQ?
Any ideas or help appreciated.
Edit: Or am I going deaf and there is nothing wrong with these clips? I doubt that...
