Hello. I sing for a black metal band and I've been using a random shit, old, peavy mic for faaaaaar too long. I am looking upgrade mics but do not really want to spend more than $200. I was wondering if any of the vocalists on this forum could provide me with some insight as to what mics are good for more extreme vocal styles. Thanks in advance.

Shure SM58 works well for me (black/death vocal-style) I think Shagrath (Dimmu Borgir) uses one, too. dunno much about other mics, as I have never used anything else........
SM 58 is the industry standard for live performance.
