the surface pro is finally the first tablet i could be compelled to buy, if they would integrate stylus support i would THROW my money at them. its a completely open operating system within the format of a easily portable tablet, if you could now write on it it would be a dream for like... everything.
I do not want an ipad, i do not want an appstore, i do not want a gimmicky iphone that was flattened 2 to 3 times with a steamshovel with essentially the same features. i want a full blown x64 machine in the format of a tablet, the surface does deliver this.
I would have an Asus Transformer Prime if linux wasnt just so hilariously bad for audio applications (even i as a programmer cant be arsed to put up with linux for any creative multimedia purposes).
€dit addendum: if you do not have to do heavy VST processing it would also be quite suitable for portable recording. Writing and playing wavs from a harddisk does not need a lot of computing power. Try to do this with an ipad, after tons of money for special hardware, adapters youre still arsef*** by the nonavailability of a good DAW.
