MIDI & CUBASE

I had the same problem a couple of months ago. I assume your using a usb connection for your controller. Make sure it is on before you open cubase, for me anyway cubase would not recognize the controller if I turned it on after cubase. Choose all midi imputs for imput and vst of your choice in output, should work
So I just came back from trying your suggestion.
Atleast now I am getting some sound.
Here's what I'm trying to accomplish. I have a Yamaha DD55 with 7 pads and midi in and out. I want to assign each pad to a track in CUBASE and then use Drumagog to replace the sounds.
Right now I can get all the pads through one channel of cubase, and it only picks up the sound every 5 seconds or so. Some pads come through sound just like the sounds generated in the Yamaha unit others come through as synth piano notes.
I'm really clueless with MIDI so any help is appreciated.
