Mike into Jimi Hendrix recently?

Seems like he has taken an interest to Hendrix' stuff. He played a couple of riffs from Third Rock From The Sun when i saw him a week ago, and Hessian Peel has its intro riff borrowed from Hey Joe.

Staying on topic, I think mike is just getting closer and closer to a "classic rock" style of guitar playing. The intro thing "from hey joe" has nothing to do with Hendrix tho, its a classic blues lick, so classic that the origin could be defined as unknown.
