i am sitting here and trying out what it takes to get a similar sound.
the guitars sound so fucking clear, no fizzle anywhere, love it!
any ideas!? i've read something about cutting hi-mids out but this
can't be the whole thing...

of course the record sounds "over produced" "sterile"and "dead"
and usualy i don't like this but for some reason this record is an exception!:headbang:

what do you guys think!?
do you know any other records that
sound similar without being shitty soundwise.

cheers
S.

As far as i am aware this is another one of joey sturgis' polished mixes so no doubt all the guitars are pod dude.
You could look up one of his threads where he talks through some of his production processes so you can gather a clearer idea of how to ascertain this type of tone.

Im sure lurking some of joey's posts will yeild results.
Helped me find out alot of stuff i didnt know.

I love the album too.
The album sounds so so similar to The Crimson Armadas(both awesome albums, although i think The Crimson Armadas one wins with awesome riffness)

Do you guys have any links with lots of info from Joey?

I don't really feel like browsing through 2k posts lol

wtf? I don't think so, and what's wrong with being overproduced?

What's wrong with being overproduced is that it starts sounding as fake as techno. And there's a reason I, and many others don't really like techno. I personally enjoy hearing human beings playing music, not computers.
