MISTRESS is one of Earache’s latest signings, and they’re sound is dirty, crusty and well, you get the picture. A fitting home for the band, as Earache is responsible for bringing quite a bit of the extreme metal we’ve grown to know and love to the ears of the public over the years. This band is equally grind, punk, crust, death, doom.
Is it anything new? Of course not, except to maybe the new generation, but to these older ears, MISTRESS was heavily influenced by NAPALM DEATH, BRUTAL TRUTH and the like and they have no shame in wearing their influences on their sleeves. And I most definiely spaced out on "Static," a fat slab of sonic ooze.
