so im recording a demo for these cool old dudes who have a jam blues/jazz band cover band they play bars and stuff and just wanted something to have to give out and stuff.

this is one of my first mix drafts. so would appreciate any comments and suggestions.

as far as the second song (mr.magic) i know the snare is too low i fucked up with the automation as i was burning i realized i had the bus level too low and it was too late it was 1 am and i was starving and tired.

i was having a few problems with the kick. first it was too boomy then it was kinda of clicky i seem to have found a middle ground. i've been referencing some cds like stevie ray vaughan, hendrix, and other assorted jazz/blues cds just to get into the whole vibe. i feel it lacks general punch so i'm working on that as well as a bit of EQ seperation.

and also by the way i've worked more on the first song as opposed to the second one so to me it's more close to completion. the second one i have to treat a bit diff make it a little more "rockin"
