Hey guys. Quick question. Wasn't really sure where to post this....

What do you guys charge per song to mix?

The reason I ask is - my band is doing a 2 song demo, and I've been debating on sending the tracks out for mixing and possibly mastering. I want to take the task on myself, but I am just forever battling with real drums played by our human drummer and my mixes are always just cloudy and never have the impact and thickness that I desire.

$180au for mixes here time + quantity -> $$$ per hour. Lots of people around here charge different rates. Find who's work and budget speaks best to you IMO

Right now I am offering free mixing with on any song that I also do reamping for.

200$ per song: mixing (including reamping, bass reamping, re-keying, sample blending using original samples, etc etc etc).

350$ per song: mixing + precise editing (selecting takes, combining takes, then slicing drums, slicing everything else, tuning vox etc).

Thanks guys! I will definitely be considering this. Might post a rough mix once I get vocals tracked for any pointers. Pretty much, we already tracked guits and bass to (slightly) edited drums. We each tracked our own parts respectively so it's not quite as tight as I would like it. May just release this 2 track demo for now and then come back to you guys for our next session.
